Michael J Fox Receives Golden Camera Lifetime Achievement Award

Feb 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) At a ceremony in Berlin, American actor Michael J Fox, known for his parts in ‘Family Ties’ and the ‘Back to the Future’ series, has been awarded the ‘Golden Camera’ award for the achievements which he has made throughout his lifetime on screen.

‘The Hollywood Reporter’ stated that the forty nine year old actor was given the award by Danny Devito, who won it last year. Michael J Fox is a sufferer of Parkinson’s Disease, and turned the sometimes terrifying diagnosis into another way in which he could serve his fans. When Devito spoke of the contribution’s which Michael has given the world, he stated, “It was such a shock to hear he had Parkinson’s. It would have devastated most people but he took it as a challenge and approached it with the enthusiasm and passion of a great actor”

Fox said he was truly humbled to receive the award, and added that it made him feel old. “I remember back in 1985 getting an award for best newcomer. Now I’m up on stage with Danny DeVito as one of the old timers.”
