Michael Feinstein’s “American Songbook” Premieres On PBS

michael_feinsmithOct 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest offering of PBS which made its debut last night is likely to turn into a delightful experience for music-lovers and fans of musical artist Michael Feinstein. The documentary series “Michael Feinstein’s American Songbook” which premiered on the network on Wednesday night was successful in keeping the viewers glued to the television screens with the fresh elements that the show has in store for the audiences.

The pilot episode of “Michael Feinstein’s American Songbook” just provided a slight glimpse into what the viewers can expect from the show in the upcoming episodes. Producers of the show have managed to create quite a hype about the new series which ensures that music-lovers would be really looking forward to the forthcoming elements of the program. The show basically follows Michael Feinstein as he takes a journey across the United States on a concert tour and in the process looks for artifacts that deserve to be well-preserved in the archive of American popular song. Through the course of the documentary, the much-loved entertainer would explore the popular music written and performed from way back the 1920’s which would later make way for the early years of rock ‘n’ roll.

During last night’s premiere episode, the 54-year-old singer and noted pianist was seen jetting to a number of concert dates from his home in New York which at the end turned out to be an immensely entertaining experience for the viewers. In the next edition of the show which would air on October 13, the singer would revisit the 1940’s, its music and the war years. In the last part, Michael Feinstein would explore the 1920’s.
