saioSep 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Despite the fact that all the die-hard fans of Hollywood actor Michael Douglas are still grappling to come to terms with the revelation that their favorite star has been diagnosed with throat cancer, the “Wall Street” actor is extremely optimistic about his chances of recuperation from the disease. The Oscar-winning actor made an appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” on Tuesday night where he talked at lengths about his condition and how he was confronting the ailment.

In his one-on-one with David Letterman, the 65-year-old actor revealed that during the earlier months of this year, he had been suffering from sore throat owing to which he had subsequently undergone tests to ascertain the cause. However, the tests that were conducted failed to shed much light into the cause of his condition and Michael Douglas went on a vacation with his family later. When he returned, he went back to the doctor and a biopsy later revealed that he had stage four cancer in his throat which was quite advanced. Despite all the odds, the celebrated actor isn’t someone to give up so easily as he expressed hope that his chances of recovering from the cancerous condition was quite high citing an 80 per cent probability as the cancer was above his neck.

During his appearance in David Letterman’s show, Michael Douglas also divulged that he had already completed his first week of radiation and chemotherapy, a revelation that left both the host as well as the audiences rather shocked as the “Monster In Law” star appeared to be in the pink of his health.
