Oct 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actors Micah Sloat and Katie Featherston are most certainly two of the happiest people around nowadays. With their movie “Paranormal Activity” doing exceptionally well all round [with critics as well as the audience] they have reasons to galore. Ever since the movie has been released at selected screenings (12) all over America on the September 25th, generally favorable reviews and adulation are mostly courting the cast and crew of the movie.

The Paramount Pictures “mockumentary” is being heralded as what can be termed to be an eligible successor to the immensely popular cult horror film of “Blair Witch Project”. “Paranormal Activity” closely tows the line that had made the Blair Witch Project such a big name in the horror movie genre. The spine chilling realistic feel that is a common feature of both the films achieves in successfully creating a world that really seems to exist beyond the realms of the reel projections.

It goes beyond all saying that the two leads, Micah Sloat and Katie Featherston [who play themselves in the movie] have put in an absolutely brilliant bit of performance, which is what makes the movie even more believable and spooky. So much so that the audience forget that they are being witness to a scripted presentation instead of a real life instance.

The story of “Paranormal Activity” traces the lives of the young couple of Micah and Katie, who are happily settled in life, until they detect a strange [supernatural] presence in their house, which seems to be trailing them throughout. In order to find out what exactly is happening, both of them put up cameras all over the house. It is through the lens of the camera that the tale is unfolded to the viewers.
