June 27th, 2011 - 11:35 am ICT by IANSMexico City, June 27 (IANS/EFE) The Mexican rock group Caifanes has announced a tour in the fall of this year that will start in the US and then move on to Mexico in October, the band said in a communique.
The first part of their musical tour will offer seven concerts, the first four in the US - scheduled for Sep 15 in Chicago, Sep 16 in Las Vegas, Sep 17 in San Diego and Sep 18 in San Francisco - according to information posted on their web site.
Five days later the band will appear in Mexico at the Teatro Banamex in Monterrey, capital of the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, and will subsequently take the stage at the Mexico City Sports Palace Oct 1.
The North American segment of the tour will wind up Oct 7 in the central Mexican city of Puebla, after which the group will travel to a number of other Latin American countries on dates yet to be announced.
The group got started in 1986 but broke up almost a decade later when guitarist Alejandro Marcovich quit because of differences with vocalist Saul Hernandez.
The other musicians remained together, rechristening their group the Jaguares.
Caifanes has made four discs - “Caifanes”, “El Diablito” (Little Devil), “El Silencio (Silence), and “El Nervio del Volcan” (The Nerve of the Volcano) - all of which got a great reception from the public.
