Washington, Apr 24 (ANI): Rock band Metallica are set to open St. Petersburg’s much-publicized new city stadium in 2010 as part of a whistle-stop Russian tour.
The rock band is among the biggest draws ever in the former Soviet Union after performing for 60,000 music fans at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow in 2007.
Thus, the promoters are keen to get them back, offering the best venues.
“We have already arranged a stadium concert and now we want to do something new,” Contactmusic quoted Nadezhda Solovyova, who heads SAV Entertainment and Russky Show-Center, as telling Blabbermouth.net.
“We want to arrange a concert for the entire Olimpiysky (venue) with a circle in the middle. They have a specially-designed project for such a stage,” Nadezhda added. (ANI)
