meryl-streepCalifornia, Jan 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Golden Globes award ceremony held in Beverly Hills, California yet again awarded actress Mary Louise Streep who is now called Meryl Streep, as the best actress in a comedy or musical for her role as Chef Julia Child in the comedy ‘Julie and Julia’. Meryl Streep does not compete with any other actress, she wants to excel herself with her acting skills. The 60 year old charming actress was also nominated for playing the older-woman romance in the romantic comedy “It’s Complicated.” She says, “In my long career, I’ve played so many extraordinary women I’m being mistaken for one.”

The stunning actress addressed the Haiti earthquake issue in The Golden Globes award ceremony. She was going through a emotional conflict when she had to project a “happy movie-star face” while she was aware of the pathetic situation of Haiti. She says she remembered her mother who would have told her to be thankful that she has money which she can donate to Haiti aid organizations and contribute to the devastated nation.

The Golden Globes award is often said to be an Oscar bellwether. This might hint that the actress who has already won Oscar twice is going to bag it again. Meryl Streep has also won the Golden Globes four times and EMMY and BAFTA awards. The Golden Globe award show had a host for the first time in 15 years. To have Ricky Gevais as the host added extra color to the show. The host’s naughty sense of humor was supposed to increase the viewership which fell from 27 million in 2004 to 15 million last year. The informal attitude of the host, free drinks provided in the show and dinner really made it an exciting experience.
