Meryl Streep to star as Julia Child in ‘Julie and Julia’

She chronicles her trials and tribulations in a blog that catches on with the food crowd, reports Variety.
The pic is based on Julie Powell’s book “Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen,”
Nora Ephron is adapting the screenplay and is also attached to direct, with Columbia wanting a 2008 start date.
In the meantime, Meryl Streep’s fans can catch her in the war-themed drama “Lions for Lambs” also starring Tom Cruise and Robert Redford.
Adams has three films awaiting release: “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day,” “Charlie Wilson’s War” and “Enchanted.” (ANI)
