Meryl Streep ‘to play Baroness Thatcher in biopic’
July 2nd, 2010 - 12:40 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, July 2 (ANI): Actress Meryl Streep is in talks to play Baroness Thatcher in a movie based on the former British prime minister’s life.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the biopic titled “Thatcher” will focus on the period immediately prior to the Falklands war.
The film’s producers are also said to be lining up British actor Jim Broadbent to play Lady Thatcher’s husband Denis in the movie, reports the Telegraph.
The film is a joint venture of Pathe and BBC Films and will be directed by British director Phyllida Lloyd. (ANI)
