New York City, April 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A report on the Internet suggests that Meredith Vieira will leave her job at NBC in June. The “Today” show co-host’s current contract ends in September but there have been rumors for months that she wouldn’t renew the contract once it expires.

According to a report by Hollywood Reporter, the officials of the show might come out as early as next week to confirm the report. Ann Curry who is a newsreader on the show is expected to take the position of Vieira after June. Correspondent Natalie Morales is tipped to become the new newsreader during the changes.

The executive producer of the ‘Today’ show, Jim Bell, in an earlier interview with the Hollywood Reporter said there was still some grey area concerning the negotiations with Vieira to stay with the show.

Hollywood Reporter says Vieira is taking some time off her career to take care of her husband and daughter. Vieira’s 15-year-old daughter, Lily, is going to the college this fall and Vieira is reportedly going to prepare the daughter for school. Vieira is also going to take care of her husband Richard Cohen who has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
