Dec 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) As the men sit around the diner table Joe (Ray Romano) learns that his wife for whom he is separated from has a date. Owen (Andre Braugher) and his wife Melissa are double dating with Joe’s wife Sonia and new boyfriend Harold at a fund raising event for the children’s school. While at the fund raiser Terry (Scott Backula) shows up to hit on an old high school sweetheart, only to discover she is still happily married.
Joe becomes nervous knowing his friend Owen is out with the wife’s new boyfriend so he calls an old gambling buddy to hang out with and take his mind off the date. During a dinner conversation at the fund raiser Owen questions Sonia about a trip she took last summer with Harold who was a special guest speaker at a seminar. It is a that point he figures out that Sonia has been having an affair with Harold for the past year, upset he excuses himself fro m the table. Returning to the table after being gone for awhile he sees that Sonia and Harold have left the table trying to avoid Owen.
Terry gets the auction underway for the school fund raiser exciting several women at the party who try to talk him into removing his clothing, he opts to loosen his tie and unbutton his collar. Thousands of dollars were raised and Terry found out his high school sweetheart wasn’t so happy in her marriage. She invited Terry to meet her for a drink after the dinner event, telling him to meet her one hour after the event was over and follow her. As he followed her car, he thought about what he was doing along with thinking about how Sonia cheated on Joe and decided it was best to not go through with his plans.
The next morning Owen went to the hotel to talk to Joe about the affair Sonia has been having and Joe tells Owen about an old girlfriend he had been emailing at the same time Sonia was beginning her affair. Sonia discovered the emails and was hurt to learn that Joe was sharing his feelings with an old girlfriend and explained the separation was bound to happen. Owen reflected on his own marriage and was glad it was still going strong and how he loved his wife.

Thanks for the episode synopsis but there are a few minor errors: Terry met up with a former lover and she’s a high school teacher but they didn’t know each other from high school, they merely met at the same school auction the year before.
Additionally, she wasn’t married but rather had just became engaged (since she and Terry hooked up).
You’re quite right about her wanting to be with him, again, and his deciding the last minute not to follow her, after all. Loved the way it was played, btw. Loved the look on his face while making the decision. Tough call for him, obviously. Maybe he’s actually growing up a bit?_Learning from Joe/Sonia’s mistakes?
Regardless, great show. Still lots of potential. Hope it gets picked up for a longer run next year!
