Melanie Griffith’s rehab is ‘just routine’, says rep
August 26th, 2009 - 1:21 pm ICT by ANILondon, Aug 26 (ANI): While actress Melanie Griffith has enrolled herself in rehab for the third time in recent years, sourced close to her are claiming that it is “just routine”.
The 52-year-old actress, who was nominated for an Oscar 20 years ago for ‘Working Girl’, is staying at the Cirque Lodge in Utah.
“She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy,” the Daily Express quoted her representative Robin Baum as saying.
He added: “This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago.”
In 2000, Griffith, who is married for 13 years to Antonio Banderas, was treated for addiction to prescribed painkillers.
“Overcoming addictions is tough but it can be made easier if you have someone who can offer support. My husband and family supported me so much through this journey and continue to do so,” wrote Griffith at the time. (ANI)
