Melanie Amaro is the US X Factor winner
December 23rd, 2011 - 9:29 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, Dec 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Melanie Amaro became the first winner of the X Factor USA show. After the previous night’s performances, the contestants were back on stage on Wednesday to hear who the first ever winner of the contest will be.
Amaro was the first to come on stage. She performed Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” That performance was enough for judge L.A. Reid to call Amaro’s voice “the best friend a song has ever met.”
Next on the stage was Chris Rene who performed “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” in a very casual way. Judge Nicole Scherzinger encouraged him with the words “You are, no matter what, a star from the inside out.”
Josh Krajcik look better composed than the night before when he performed the holiday song “Please Come Home For Christmas.” Simon Cowell complimented Josh for his performance.
After guest performances from Justin Bieber and Steve Wonder, the most important announcement was left to be made. Rene was told that he has placed third in the contest.
Amaro and Josh did a duet of Bowie’s “Heroes.” Show host Steve Jones finally announced that Amaro is going away with the $5 million prize money.
Her first reaction was “Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, My God.”
