Its official now: Mel Gibson’s girlfriend Oskana Grigoreiva is pregnant and the star’s 28 year marriage is crumbling. The announcement came from the 53 year old actor himself on the TV show “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”. Gibson said that he was expecting his eight child. Gibson has seven children, but this is the couple’s first child. Gibson’s girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, is Russian, and he said that he had began dating her about a year ago.

About six weeks ago Gibson’s wife Robyn had revealed in front of the media that their marriage had ended due to “irreconcilable differences”. Talking of his wife,Gibson said that she was a wonderful woman and that they are still “friends”. He revealed that their marriage ended 3 years ago, much before Oksana came into his life. He also added that it was not only sad but also very unfortunate that his marriage did not work, but said that “these things happen.” He put himself at blame for the marriage not having worked and seemed to suggest that he had no plans of marrying Oksana, at least not in the near future. When asked if he would marry Oksana, he avoided a direct answer, but shot back in return, that who would ever want to marry twice.

As a couple Gibson and Oksana made their first public appearance on the 28th of April this year at the premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in the Gruman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California. Oksana is signed to Gibson’s recording label Icon.
