Mel Gibson investigation given to prosecutors
February 17th, 2011 - 7:44 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Feb 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The battle between Mel Gibson and former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva has moved to another gear after sheriff detectives completed their investigation and handed them over to prosecutors.
The sheriffs investigated Gibson’s claims last year that Oksana tried to extort money from him during their negotiations for the child support. The results from the investigation were given to prosecutors on Wednesday at midday.
Sheriff’s spokesman, Steve Whitmore, who delivered the findings of the investigation to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office declined to give details about the findings. He wouldn’t also say if the report recommended charges against the Russian star.
Gibson may also find himself in trouble in the report. The detectives looked into allegations that Gibson did hit Oksana during a fight between the two in January 2010.
Gibson was the subject of so much hate when it emerged that he has abused Oksana physically. In phone conversation recordings that were leaked to the press by Oksana, Gibson could be heard using swearing words on Oksana. The recordings also revealed threatening words from the Academy Award Winner.
Gibson is currently fighting to have a court strip Oksana of the child support that he pays to her.
