Mel Gibson Los Angeles, Mar 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mel Gibson is so excited about the epic Viking film that he is about to direct, that he thinks that it might be his last film. He has signed on the Titanic star Leonardo DiCaprio for the movie, and the screenplay is written by William Monahan (of ‘The Departed’ fame.) He is so excited by the story, which he even goes on to say that this is the kind of movie, that he wanted to make since he was a little boy.

The ‘Braveheart’ and ‘The Passion of the Christ’ star says that this is the first movie that he ever thought of making. He also revealed that this particular Viking movie has been in his mind since he was a teenager, and it was the very first movie that he wanted to make, but as that couldn’t happen, so this movie will mark the last time that he would don the director’s hat.

He went on to talk about the new film, stating: “We’re [working] on the script right now. When I was 16, learning about the history of the English language, I became fascinated with Vikings. And I imagined what they would sound like, how would they talk and that’s what I will be going for in this film. There’s never been a good Viking film, not that I’ve seen. I think I have found the right way to get into it. The real problem is making those guys sympathetic. They were monsters.”
