Mel Gibson crashes vehicle in Malibu

LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — Actor Mel Gibson on Sunday was involved in a vehicle accident, the Department of California Highway Patrol (DCHP) said.
Gibson was alone and driving southbound on Malibu Canyon Road south of the tunnel, and for unknown reasons, the actor lost control of his vehicle. He shifted right and struck a rock hillside of the road at approximately 8:35 p.m., local time, in Malibu, California.
After stopping his car at the scene, Gibson was contacted by officers from the Wet Valley CHP Area.
Gibson supplied the officers with all necessary information at the scene, gave a statement and was taken home by a friend. The DCHP said that DUI was no suspected in the accident.
