London, Oct 29 (IANS) Hollywood actor Mel Gibson may go to jail for contempt of court if he is found guilty of failing to pay child support to former partner Oksana Grigorieva for their daughter Lucia.

The 54-year-old actor is accused by ex-partner Oksana Grigorieva of breaching a court order to provide $20,000 a month in child support for their daughter Lucia and if found guilty at a Nov 10 court hearing Gibson could face jail.

“For three consecutive months, Mel has paid Oksana somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000 each month, it varies, but either way, it is well short of what a judge instructed he must deliver the mother of his child,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

Oksana’s attorney Lisa Bloom claimed Mel was a “deadbeat dad” who is trying to “bully” Oksana out of the money he is supposed to hand over to her.

“Mel Gibson, at this point, is a deadbeat dad.”

Asked why Gibson who is rumoured to be worth $600 million had failed to pay the monthly figure, she said: “Because he wants to continue to bully Oksana. This is a pattern of behaviour that has gone on and on and he thinks he can take advantage of the mother of his daughter.”
