fox April 1, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Hollywood hottie, Megan Fox, has turned down the offer to play the role of Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider film. “The offer has been on the table for Megan for a while but she’s reluctantly turned it down,” the New York Daily News quoted an insider telling the entertainment website Showbiz Spy.

Fox’s denial is to avoid more comparison of her with Angelina Jolie, the original star of the film. “She’s the logical choice to play Lara and she loves the character but the comparison with Angelina Jolie is too much,” the insider added.

Fox has often been compared with Angelina Jolie, with media even calling her the next Angelina Jolie. This might be because both the actors have a tattoo collection and a sex symbol status. Though Fox doesn’t seem to like this and while commenting on this comparison in the past, referred to it as lack of creativity on media’s part.

Fox, who rose to fame after portraying the role of Mikaela Banes in the Transformers film series, started her career by playing a recurring role in the television show Hope and Faith. She was first seen on the big screen in the film Confessions of a Teenage Drama queen along side of Lindsay Lohan.

Fans can, however, rejoice as she will be soon seen in the film, Jonah Hex, in which she will portray Leila, a gun-wielding beauty and the love interest of Jonah Hex portrayed by Josh Brolin.
