Los Angeles, Jan 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The success of the movie “Mean Girls” compelled ABC to consider a sequel for the movie.

Though the sequel to the 2004 movie was expected much earlier, delays kept pushing it back until it finally became a reality recently. It was aired on Sunday at 8pm on ABC.

Most of the original castmembers of the original “Mean Girls” are out. Instead, the movie has new characters that have taken their places. The only character that was left in the current setting in the original movie is Tim Meadows, who plays the role of Mr. Duvall, the principal.

The new cast-members in the sequel are Meaghan Martin, Maiara Walsh, Nicole Gale Anderson and Claire Holt.

Walsh is the leader of the “Plastics” with Gale and Holt playing the roles of her two lackeys.

Jo (played by Weaghan) was raised by her father because her mother died pretty earlier on in her life. Her father is just a NASCAR mechanic and while in school, Jo just wanted to be a regular girl. However she had to first be able to overcome the “Plastics” before she could be.
