McFly part ways with each other and record label

London, Jan 26 (ANI): British pop rock band McFly is set and ready to leave behind the record label that made them famous, and to forge on ahead but no longer as a boy band.

Members of McFly, 22-year-old Tom Fletcher, 21-year-old Danny Jones, 20-year-old Dougie Poynter and 22-year-old Harry Judd, have decided that it is time for them to grow up and go their separate ways.

The band has been very successful as of October 07, with seven No1 singles and two No1 albums, and a huge number of awards. But the credit for their success is largely due to the clever guidance of their management team and Island, their label.

The boys, who are at the moment in Australia recording the last album that they are contracted to release under their deal, seem to have come to the decision while they were there.

According to reports, they have given their management instructions to hunt out a new deal similar to the one Paul McCartney signed with coffee giants Starbucks.

The boys feel they have outgrown the company. Label chiefs have plans for them they disagree with. They are tired of being a boy band, the Sun quoted a source as saying.

They want to be recognised for their song writing and being more than just a teen act. The time in Australia has given them a chance to put together their battle plan.

They are all really excited about the idea of being free to make their own decisions about their future, the source added. (ANI)
