June 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Tamil music composer Mayu Ganeshan is launching his debut album “Aappam’, which is a compilation of dance, hip-hop and rock music infused with the Tamil film ballads.
The Westmead based music composer said, “I have grown up listening to Tamil ballads and the album is influenced by my childhood memories.”
Ganesan is a versatile musician, who composes music, plays the keyboard and guitar, and also writes the lyrics and vocals of his tracks.
His debut album “Aappam’ is a collection of the best works done by him in the last two years. Ganesan said, “For me, it was very important to merge the genres of ballads, dance and rock in the album.”
Born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Ganesan is a self-taught keyboard and guitar player. His music career started when Ganesan moved to Australia for his advanced studies in audio engineering at Byron Bay.
The composer added, “I always wanted to come to Australia for further studies as I was already taking course in audio engineering in Sri Lanka.”
His association with Create Media helped him to come up with this album.
Ganesan shared, “In lyrics, I took a lot of help from the rap artist Lazar Nyembo, who does a lot of rapping.”
He has worked as a sound recording artist for the upcoming Australian movie Silent Eyes directed by James Mathew.
