May 14, 2010 (Samppurn Wire): This weekend may be dissatisfying for the film buffs as there aren’t any releases. But just hold your breath, for the upcoming week has half-a-dozen of films hitting screens.

Kola Kolaya Mundhrika

Madhumitha’s debut directorial was an emotional drama that didn’t intend to attract many audiences in spite of winning laurels. But this time, it’s a comedy entertainer based on treasure hunt. Starring Karthik Kumar in lead role, Crazy Mohan has written dialogues for this film.

Kadhalagi

Produced by K. Creations, the film is directed by K.R. Vishwa. Based on a poignant love story, the film features newcomers in lead roles with Prakash Raj donning a powerful character. A.R. Rahman’s sister A.R. Raihanna has composed songs while Thaman S has taken care of background score.

Maanja Velu

Karthik’s comeback in prominent role together with Prabhu speaks a lot for this film. Starring Arun Vijay and “Peranmai’ fame Tansika in lead roles, the film has Santhanam taking care of comedy sequences. A. Venkatesh has wielded megaphone and is produced by Arun Vijay’s father-in-law Mohan under the banner of Feather Touch Entertainment. Musical score by Manisharma has been proved as a passable one.

Kutrappirivu

Followed by the grand success of “Kana Kanden’, the duo combo Prithviraj-Srikanth is back in action, but this time with a different genre. “Kutrappirivu’ will be an action packed drama based on conspiracies and conflicts involved in police department. Kamalini Mukherji makes her comeback in Tamil film industry after a long time. The film is directed by Manmohan and is produced by Green Apple Productions and Divya Pictures.

Magane En Maarumagane

T.P. Gajendran, who doesn’t strain himself a lot over picking serious themes, comes up with yet another comedy entertainer titled “Magane En Maarumagane’. Just as other filmmakers publicize their film as “Summer Special’, T.P. Gajendran goes ahead in adding more factors alike – summer, Comedy, Ladies and Family Special. Raghav and comedy actor Vivek has performed full-fledged lead role in this family drama.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Producers have been targeting on kids for this summer and previous week’s release “Kutty Pisasu’ has proved of it. There is yet another film based on Children’s genre hitting screens on the same day May 21. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star has the musical score by Ilayaraja and is produced by WELGATE CINEMA FOX PRIVATE Pvt Ltd.

Well, it looks like the whole weekend is gonna be a feast for movie lovers as they will have lots of options at the theaters.
