mt New York City, Apr 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) TV actress Maura Tierney is all set to make a comeback on TV, after successfully battling breast cancer. The former ‘News Radio’ star had been roped in to star in ‘Parenthood’ but due to her medical state, she was forced to bid adieu to the project, just a fortnight before the shooting was to start. NBC didn’t dump Maura, rather they postponed the series for sometime, but when they saw that she would take more time for her surgery and treatment, then they had no option but to replace her with the ‘Gilmore Girls’ star Lauren Graham.

Lauren Graham said after being offered the role in Parenthood that, “You make a list of all the things you want, but what you really want is to fall in love with somebody. You want a good partnership with a writer who is a good storyteller and can write for you. After I read the pilot, I felt this show is something I could spend years on and feel challenged and represented.”

And now after successfully battling breast cancer, she would make her comeback in her old role in the Fox series ‘Rescue Me’ as Kelly McPhee. However her fans would be able to see her on their screens in only 2011, as the filming has started now. This show is based on the life and times of the firefighter Tommy Gavin.
