Maura Tierney Returns After Cancer Treatment

Los Angeles, Apr 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Film and television actress Maura Tierney who had been absent for a long time now will be making a comeback to television with the series titled “Rescue Me”. The American actress had been undergoing treatment for breast cancer for quite some time. Maura Tierney was a known face in American television with popular shows like “New Radio” and “ER” to her name.
Though Maura Tierney was supposed to relaunch herself in the comedy series “Parenthood” on NBC, her role was later offered and taken by fellow actress Lauren Graham. She will now come to screen again in one of her previous shows “Rescue Me”. However Kelly McPhee, the character enacted by Maura Tierney in the serial will not appear on screen before 2011, it has been reported. Maura Tierney will come on air in season 7 of “Rescue Me” when the situation in the serial will be a little different from what it is now.
FX cable network confirmed about the actress’s return to its crew of “Rescue Me” from which she had dropped out in Season 5 to undergo treatment of breast cancer. Maura Tierney will reappear in Season 7 of the series, bringing back her character Kelly McPhee, the love interest of Denis Leary. Maura Tierney was last seen on TV last summer, after which she dropped out of “Parenthood” and “Rescue Me”. The 45 year old actress is presently shooting in New York for the four episodes in which she will be seen. She will reprise her previous role in the action drama series of FX cable network.
