Maura Tierney Makes A Comeback With A New Role

maura_tierney-pic1June 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former ‘ER’ star Maura Tierney is all set to return too American TV screens with ABC’s new drama series ‘The Whole Truth’.

After battling breast cancer for almost 16 months the star has signed the deal for the Jerry Bruckheimer production. She replaced Joely Richardson who was the original choice for the role but had to drop out for some family reasons.

Maura Tierney will be playing the role of Kathryn Peale who is a deputy bureau chief in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. The product of a New England background and a sheriff father, Kathryn Peale becomes a force to reckon with in the legal world.

Jimmy Brogan played by Rob Morrow, born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen and a friend of Kathryn’s since their days at Yale Law School, is one of New York’s rising criminal attorneys. The two celebrated lawyers will be up against each other every week in ‘The Whole Truth’.

‘The Whole Truth’ trailer which has Joely Richardson promise to take the audience behind the scenes of every legal battle. Kathryn Peale is shown defending the victims whereas Jimmy Morgan fights for the accused. The stylish lawyers are seen digging deep into every case and go all out in court to fight against each other.

For fans of Maura Tierney the role is tailor made for a good comeback. Previously Maura Tierney was expected to star in the family drama ‘Parenthood’ but she opted out for her breast cancer. She was married to actor-director Billy Morisette and has two children.
