Washington, Nov 29 (ANI): Matthew Perry has signed on to star in New Line’s teen comedy 17.

The actor will be playing Zac Efrons grown-up version in the pic.

Burr Steers is directing from a script penned by Jason Filardi, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

The movie revolves around a middle-age father who wakes up to find he’s 17 again. In order to be close to his children, he enrolls in the same school as them.

On board as producers are Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot via their Offspring Entertainment banner.

Production on the movie is set to begin early next month.

Efron was attached to star when the project was set up. Leslie Mann, who plays Perry’s wife, came on board in October. (ANI)
