Matthew McConaughey, Eva Mendes ‘to star in Southbound’

The independently financed drama is going to be directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz, Variety reports.
The movie could have McConaughey as a patrol officer on the border between California and Mexico.
The script written by Peter Craig, apparently, leads the ‘The Wedding Planner’ star to accept a bribe from a gorgeous Mexican woman, which puts his family in danger and lands him in the middle of a war between the Mexican crime families and the U.S. immigration police.
The project is to be financed by Overnight Prods and Overnight’s Rick Schwartz and Aaron Kaufman will produce it. (ANI)
