Los Angeles, June 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Matthew Fox may need to enter an alcohol treatment program. If he completes an alcohol treatment, the Lost star Matthew Fox will probably avoid going to prison and his DUI case will be dismissed.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on May 4. Fox was later charged with driving without a license and under the influence of intoxicants. Fox pleaded no contest and the plea was entered by the star’s attorney.

The news came after a lawsuit against the actor has been dropped earlier this month. Heather Bormann, an Ohio bus driver claimed that Fox assaulted her during an argument.

She accused the actor of punching her in the groin and claimed that the actor was allegedly showing signs of being intoxicated during the confrontation. However, local prosecutors never formally charged the actor for the alleged attack.

Fox’s former colleague, the British actor Dominic Monaghan, accused Fox in twitter of regularly beating up women. The pair met in the set of the show Lost, where Fox played the role of the spinal surgeon Dr. Jack Shephard.

Fox rose to fame after his portrayal of Charlie Salinger on the teen drama series Party of Five.
