May 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The NBC host of The Today Show, Matt Lauer and his wife, model Annette have spoken out about the rumors which were flying that they have split up because of infidelity on the part of Matt. Some of the stories insisted that Matt was cheating on his wife with his co host, Meredith, but those were unsubstantiated. The couple are now calling other rumors, including that he had an affair with Whitney Houston’s sister, “ridiculous’ and ‘offensive’.

Matt told People Magazine “I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple, I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that.” The couple have been married for 12 years, and were also rumored to have split just after The Winter Olympics in Vancouver because of Matt’s so called “flirtatious behavior.” Lauer insisted: “The accusations [of infidelity] are ridiculous and I’m not going to dignify them with an answer. It’s not true.”

Lauer’s wife has stepped up to defend him as well, and told People Magazine “Out of self respect, I want to stand up for our family and protect them,” to which Matt added, “Have we had a completely perfect, easy marriage? No. But the stories you’ve read over the years are not true.”
