May 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) If the rumors and tabloids are to be believed, Matt Lauer could soon join the club which already boasts such celebrity members as Tiger Woods and Jesse James. That is-as I said, if the rumors are true. So far the story is coming from rumors which spread after a story was posted in “The National Enquirer”. It is a “he said she said we think” type of thing which sometimes means it can be taken with a grain of salt. The story erupted Wednesday when the magazine launched a story with the headline “Matt Lauer Walks Out On Wife: New Cheating Scandal Rocks Marriage.” Of course it was a cover story. Once the story of the divorce hit the headlines, people everywhere began to speculate the reasons for it.

And that is where Meredith Viera comes in. Co-hosts of the “Today” show include Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Ann Curry, Al Roker, and Natalie Morales. Meredith was also a moderator on “The View” before moving to the Today show. The rumors that she is the mistress of Matt and partial reason for the divorce are unsubstantiated so far, and are based mostly on conjecture from the fans of the show who sense a connection between the two. Meredith is married, however, and has been for 23 years to her husband who has multiple sclerosis. Matt and his wife, Annette Roque have had problems before in the marriage, which led Annette to file for divorce in 2006. She later withdrew the request.
