The hype around 90210’s second season is rising and the fans of the hugely popular show are in for a number of surprises. “Significant” changes include shuffles in the main cast of the show as well.

The hot jock character Ethan played by Dustin Milligan is no longer among the main characters on the show. His contract with the shows producers has not been renewed though he may be brought in for some appearances that may be necessary to wrap up some tracks or to move on with some stories.

Matt Lanter plays newcomer Liam on the show and will soon be made to join the main cast of the second season. new episodes from the first season of 90210 will return on Tuesday nights after the break and the first show will feature both Liam and Ethan, played by Matt Lanter and Dustin Milligan respectively. The episode is expected to forward both their tracks.

Shannen Doherty will be seen on the show but not as a regular and this could turn off old faithfuls from the second season because a large part of the shows earlier ratings came owing to Shannen’ presence on the show.

Meanwhile Matt Lanter said he was pleasantly surprised at how easily he gelled with the crew of 90210 in spite of joining them midway. He said, “I really lucked out with the cast and crew. Everyone is really cool.” Lanter plays bad boy Liam whose influence goes past Naomi in the season ans often results in bad situations, and is a direct contrast to Ethan’s character.
