Mary-Louise Parker plans to quit “Weeds”May 17th, 2009 - 8:25 pm ICT by GD
The immensely popular and much awaited show called the “Weeds” is all set to loose one of its main actors. Mary-Louise Parker will not return to this show, when the shooting for the seventh season of this show starts. The first report of her quitting this show was published in the New York Post. This report is believed to be not far from the truth if we are to trust the industry insiders.
The audience is currently waiting for the fifth season of this show. The show produced by Showtime has planned for 13 episodes for both the fifth season (which is due next) and the sixth (the work of which has just started). But the problem is that since Mary-Louise Parker plays such an important role in the “Weeds”, the show cannot be even imagined without it. The script has been visualized and written keeping her in mind, and if the news of her leaving the show is absolutely true them be ready for the sixth season as the last installment for this hugely popular program.
It has also been quoted in the media that Mary-Louise Parker had no intention of continuing the show even in its sixth edition. But due to the signed contracts between the producers and the artist, she is not been able to do so presently. But there is no contract for the seventh season and thus she is free to quit the show without any legal obligations. A reason for Mary-Louise Parker’s decision of quitting is said to be her allegation that she was forced into playing a nude scene in the season finale of the same show last year. The show’s co-executive producer Robert Benabib however maintains that the scene was necessary for the script and the character that she is playing.
