Mary-Louise Parker is disappointed about getting nudeMay 19th, 2009 - 8:19 pm ICT by GD
Mary-Louise Parker has again showed her disappointment about the nude scene that she had shot recently. She felt that the bathtub scene where she appeared nude was a bit too much. Parker is supposed to have told the “MORE magazine”, of the June issue, that she thought that there was no need “to be naked.” Parker added, “I fought with the director about it, and now I am bitter… I wish I hadn’t done that. I was goaded into it.”
However, it must be mentioned that Mary-Louise Parker has never felt awkward about the sex scenes that were demanded for her role as Nancy Botwin in “Weeds.” If you are still wondering who Parker is then it is high time that you know that Parker plays the role of a marijuana-selling suburban mom in the “Weeds” series shown on the Showtime.
The co-executive producer of the show, Roberto Benabib, has been vocal enough to defend his own position and has claimed that nudity was required to depict the vulnerability of Parker’s character. He has claimed, “We felt at that point in her life, defenses had been so thoroughly stripped away…there was a nonchalance to the nudity that informed the scene … I thought it was wonderful, one of the five best scenes Mary-Louise has ever done [on Weeds].”
Mary-Louise Parker said that though her is disappointed with the whole affair yet she loves her role in the “Weeds” series. She said, “I like it the more extreme it is… but I don’t like it when it’s crass and crude for humor’s sake, and I don’t like when it’s sentimental, when she’s a sweet mother. To me, she’s not that.”
