Mary Kay Letourneau’s Story Airs On TV

untitled13Nov. 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mary Kay Letourneau, is back in the minds of people again. This time, though she hasn’t done something scandalous, but her life story is being aired on television this week, for the people to watch again. Her story, ‘All American Girl: The Mary Kay Letourneau Story’ is being aired today, [stars Ann Miller in the lead role].

For those who don’t already know, Mary Kay, had been sentenced for raping (she claimed to ‘having sex’) a thirteen year old boy- Vili Fualaau. Mary was a schoolteacher and the daughter of a prominent political figure, John G. Schmitz, whose career ended due to his daughters sex scandal controversy. Mary was a political science professor in the Shorewood Elementary School, Burien, Washington. She taught Vili Fualaau in his second grade and then again in the 6th grade. When Vili turned 12, they started an extra-marital affair. 13 year old Vili and 35 year old Mary also produced two kids. This resulted in her prison sentences, but once she was out from there, she divorced her 1st husband and married Vili in the year 2005. The whole scandal was revealed in the year of 1982, when the teacher admitted to the accusations.

The issue inspired several Movies and TV stories. These include, ‘All-American Girl: The Mary Kay Letourneau Story’ , which was a 2000 TV movie and starred Penelope Ann Miller as Mary. A court documentary called, ‘Mary Kay Latourneau: Forbidden Desire’ and ‘Mary Kay Letourneau: The E! True Hollywood Story’ were also released. An A$E biography episode was made and named, ‘Mary Kay Letourneau: Out Of Bounds’.
