Mary J Blige to portray Justice Charlier in ‘Rock of Ages’

Blige plays the role of Justice Charlier in the upcoming adaptation of the Broadway masterpiece “Rock of Ages.” Picture of Blige as Charlier has been uploaded on the Internet. Blige is part of array of stars who are currently involved in the filming of the movie. Blige’s character is the owner of the strip club.
During a recent interview with ScreenRant.com, the 40-year-old singer said her character is “the rock…But she’s probably the person with the most problems that they never see. She has to keep everybody lifted up.”
She further told the website that, “I love the fact that everyone is singing. It’s like, we act-sing, act-sing. So there are songs like ‘Any Way You Want It’ by Journey that I’m singing and ‘Shadows of the Night’ by Pat Benatar.”
Blige has another role in the movie aside acting – lending her voice to the soundtrack. Filming of the movie is ongoing with several stars on board the production. Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta are all part of the movie.
The movie is expected to be released to the theaters on the 1st of June 2012.
