Brad Pitt New York, June 15 (ANI): Marvel Comics are set to breathe new life into their famous superhero Captain America, two years after he was gunned down on the steps of a courthouse.

Joe Quesada, the Editor-in-Chief, says that fans can expect the dramatic return of the superhero and his alter ego, Steve Rogers, next month in a five-comic book series, Captain America Reborn.

“The original Captain America is finally coming back. We’ve been patiently planning for this moment for 21/2 years,” the New York Daily News quoted Joe as saying.

Marvel writer Ed Brubaker said that he could not believe the reaction of fans all over the world after the character was knocked off.

He said: “It was crazy. I had shock jocks calling me up at 5:30 in the morning - they got my home number somehow - and they were like, ‘Ed, tell us it’s not true, tell us Captain America is not dead.’”

And 68 years after Joe Simon and Jack Kirby created the character of the sickly young man who reaches the peak of human perfection by a “Super Soldier” serum to fight the Nazis, Captain America continues to adore fan worldwide.

Bryan Hitch, the artist for Captain America Reborn, added: “He’s a pop culture icon. [Captain America] at heart is a bit of an old-fashioned guy - he looks like Brad Pitt, but smells like your granddad.” (ANI)
