Martin Scorsese wins Emmy for directing best drama
September 19th, 2011 - 10:05 am ICT by IANSLos Angeles, Sep 19 (IANS) Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese won his first Emmy for directing the pilot episode of HBO’s drama series “Boardwalk Empire”, a period show about politician and gangster Nucky Thompson, who ruled Atlantic City.
The 63rd annual Emmy awards held here Sunday also saw Jason Katims bagging the prestigious award for writing the best drama series for “Friday Night Lights”, which talks about problems faced by Texas football players and their loved ones.
