Robert De NiroNew York, Oct 5 (IANS) Academy-award winning director Martin Scorsese and actor Robert De Niro are teaming up once again for a film.According to Variety magazine, the movie will be an adaptation of Charles Brandt’s book “I Heard You Paint Houses” - about a mob assassin Frank Sheeran, who is believed to have been involved in the death of America’s largest labour union Teamster’s boss Jimmy Hoffa, reports Hollywood.com.

Produced by Paramount Pictures, the screenplay will be written by Steve Zaillian of “American Gangster” and “Schindler’s List” fame.

The title of the book refers to mob slang for contract killings, and the resulting blood splatter on walls and floors. However, the title of the movies has not been announced as yet.

According to the book, Sheeran, who is reputed to have carried out more than 25 mob murders confessed certain of them to Brandt including the killing and dismemberment of Hoffa.

Brandt befriended Sheeran shortly before the latter’s death in 2003.

Wherein Scorsese will direct the thriller on organised crime, De Niro will play Frank “the Irishman” Sheeran.

De Niro and Scorsese’s past collaborations include “Mean Streets”, “Taxi Driver”, “Raging Bull”, “Goodfellas” and “Casino”.
