Jan 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Martha Stewart was taken to a hospital after her lip was split by her French bulldog, causing her to need stitches. According to the home décor guru’s blog, she was getting ready to leave for her appearance on the ‘Today Show’ and the ‘Martha Show’ when she bent down to whisper goodbye to the bulldog, Francesca. Just at that moment, the dog “bolted upright with such force that she hit me in the face like a boxing glove hitting an opponent’s face,” according to Martha.

Martha goes on to explain that she felt her neck snap back, and “felt a bit of whiplash as blood gushed forth from my split lip. Frannie was as upset as I was and cowered in her bed.” Martha rushed to the mirror and, upon realizing that the gash in her lip was pretty serious, she called for the police to give her a ride to the emergency room, since she had forgotten that her driver was waiting for her already to take her into the city.

Martha made phone calls to have a plastic surgeon at the hospital when she arrived at Northern Westchester Hospital. The doctor arrived from his home nearby as Martha lay in the hospital bed waiting for him. Meanwhile, Martha was able to take thirty four pictures of her experience, her lip, and the hospital décor, which, even in her condition, she was able to take the time to criticize with, “The ceiling border in the little patient room could use some updating, don’t you think?”
