Martha Stewart and Emeril sued over bad knives

New York, Sept 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Martha Stewart and Emeril Lagasse are being sued for duping people in to buying bad knives.

Stewart’s home shopping network company has been selling cooking knives and Lagasse has been the pitchman for the company. The blades of the knives in question have the words ‘Solingen Germany’ engraved on them. This led those who bought the knives to believe that the knives were made by the renowned ‘Solingen knife-makers’.

According to the charges against Stewart and Lagasse, the knives were knock-offs that are believed to have been made in china. A lot of reviews have been posted on line concerning Lagasse and the knives.

People are saying that it is terrible that a top chef can lie to people so that they buy knives that are of poor quality. They say that the chef can not be trusted. They say that the knives rust very fast and they are breaking off. The suit against the two was filed by the owners of the Solingen name.

‘The Chamber of Industry and Commerce’ in Wuppertal-Solingen-Remscheid and they are asking for 2 million dollars in damages for each trademark infringement. This is not the first time that Stewart has had a problem with the law and the fact that she owns Lagasse’s line does not help her at all.
