Oct 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It looks like a busy week for former child star Martha Plimpton as the 30-year-old actress not only appeared in the Halloween special episode of ‘Raising Hope’ but also performed ‘God Bless America’ during the 7th inning stretch of the World Series game 3 on October 30. In the ‘Raising Hope’ episode, Martha Plimpton played the role of the grandmother who has returned to the Chance family on Halloween. The noted actress appeared in an interview ahead of the show and spoke about the Chance family and her own life while growing up.

Martha Plimpton revealed in the interview that her mother was a hippie and she did not meet her father till she was 4. Talking about her role on the show alongside show creator Greg Garcia, the actress said that she liked the character of Virginia because in spite of the tough outside she felt that she had a soft core. She also spoke about the dilemma that Virginia faced about revealing her mother’s past to her children. She said that the truth was extreme for the Chance family as Virginia’s mother was executed in the electric chair and considering that the children were still small, it could have been too much for them to take.

Martha Plimpton also spoke about her own family in the interview and said that her mother was a young when she was born. She explained that it was the 70s and her mother’s hippie background made it hard for her to raise a little girl. She said that she made some great improvisation in terms of parenthood.
