Married doc from Cape Town leaves wife for Annie Lenox
February 12th, 2011 - 7:35 pm ICT by ANILondon, Feb 12 (ANI): A married doctor has reportedly run off with pop star Annie Lennox.
South African gynaecologist Dr Mitch Besser, 56, has moved out of his Cape Town family home, reports the Sun.
Besser and former Eurythmics star Annie, both 56, met two years ago through his charity, which helps HIV positive mums in Africa.
Besser’s pals say that though his marriage to Debra was over at the time, there were hopes of reconciliation. But now that he has embarked on a relationship with Annie, there are no such expectations.
One friend said: “Debra’s devastated.
“Annie and Besser became close throughout last year. It’s now serious. Annie didn’t set out to hurt Debra but understandably there’s some upset.”
The former couple has two sons - Sam, 19, and Max, 16. (ANI)
