‘Marmayogi’ will be made by me and Pyramid Saimira: Kamal Haasan

August 20th, 2008 - 8:14 pm ICT by IANS -

Chennai, Aug 20 (IANS) Actor-director Kamal Haasan has confirmed that his film “Marmayogi” will be produced by his banner in collaboration with Pyramid Saimira. “We have signed an agreement with Pyramid Saimira and any news to the contrary is a slur on our bonafide partnership. Media reports contrary to this business deal struck between Raj Kamal Films International and Pyramid Saimira Group are inaccurate and immature,” said Kamal Haasan in a press note issued Tuesday.

A section of media reported that Kamal Haasan had moved out of the agreement with Pyramid Saimira and had collaborated with Soundarya Rajnikant, daughter of Tamil superstar Rajnikant.

P.S.Swaminathan, chairman of Pyramid Saimira, said: “The film is a trilingual film to be produced in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, and plans are afoot to make the film in English language also.”

Based on Marie Corelli’s 1886 novel “Vendetta: The Story of One Forgotten”, “Marmayogi” at a budget of Rs.1.25 billion is the costliest Indian film to date.

Swaminathan also pointed out that a project of this size cannot be made without evaluating its business prospects and viability study.

“No company, which is taking up such huge project can move forward with misplaced assumptions,” said Swaminathan.
