Marlo Thomas memoir looks back at her life with an affectionate stance

Actress Marlo Thomas has published her autobiography, a 379 page book in which she talks fondly about her dad, comedian Danny Thomas as well as a list of interviews she went through with over 20 famous comics such as Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and Steven Wright in the book titled ‘Growing Up Laughing: My Story and the Story of Funny‘.

Thomas however stated that she didn’t want to tell the exact experiences she has gone through in her life and only wanted to share the comedy aspects of it. The actress lived in Beverly Hills as one of the three children by Rose Marie and Danny Thomas, who is famous for featuring in the entertaining series Make Room for Daddy.

She said that, “I didn’t want it to be, ‘and then I had this triumph,’ ‘and then I slept with this guy.’ Oh, who CARES?! My life is remembered by me through the lens of comedy. That’s what plays in my head. And that’s what I wanted to express.”

She also revealed that they had lots of fun especially when one of her dad’s comedian friends came around as they were always at each other’s throat to come out on top in their comedies.

Thomas has starred in many hit shows such as Barefoot in the Park, That Girl etc.
