Mark Wahlberg gets a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame

Los Angeles, July 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Hollywood Walk of Fame has a new member and its none other than the rapper, model and actor Mark Wahlberg.
The ceremony honoring the actor with his star occurred on Thursday, at the popular sidewalk monument located at Hollywood Boulevard.
Will Ferrell, who is the 39-year-old Wahlberg’s costar in the action movie “The Other Guys”, which is scheduled to be launched next week was present at the ceremony and chipped in a few words. He said he loved Wahlbergs movies as well as his exercise videos. He said that, “I’m glad to be here. I first became a fan of Mark’s when I bought his workout video. And I love all your ‘Bourne’ movies.”
The rapper turned actor first became famous in the 1990’s as a member of the hip-hop group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
He switched into modeling Calvin Klein briefs as a model before switching again to acting. His wife and four kids were at the ceremony and the actor said he was honored to be given the star especially with his kids around.
He’s starred in other movies such as “Four Brothers,” “Three Kings,” “The Perfect Storm,” “The Italian Job,” and has won an academy award for his supporting role in “The Departed”.
