Mark Wahlberg confirms that ‘Fighter 2′ is in the pipeline

Los Angeles, June 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mark Wahlberg has told reporters that another Fighter movie is being discussed. Wahlberg was a producer and star of the first Fighter movie which surprisingly became a huge success in 2010.

The movie won the “Guy Movie of the Year” at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards. At the event, Wahlberg told the world that there is going to be “Fighter 2.” He however failed to say whether the original casts and the director of the first movie will be part of the sequel. The movie’s success has been credited to the director of the movie David O. Russell.

Wahlberg announced that, “We left out the Aturo Gatti fights for a reason…Because that’s for ‘Fighter 2′. We’re not going to do ‘Fighter’ 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, but we’re gonna do 2. We’re gonna do the Ward/Gatti trilogy.”

The movie did very well during at the Guys Choice Awards. A clip with the video of Wahlberg making the announcement will be released today. The video which was taken during the Guys Choice Award shows Wahlberg making the announcement on stage with Russell and other stars of the movie standing by.

Wahlberg gave no further details on the movie.
