avengers_6601 Los Angeles, July 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mark Ruffalo has been confirmed as the replacement for Edward Norton as The Incredible Hulk in the epic movie “The Avengers”. The announcement has been a source of speculations for weeks, when it became clear that Edward Norton would not be playing the role again in the prequel.

Mark Ruffalo was confirmed last night at the Comic-Con convention at San Diego. Ruffalo’s name has come up several times and the confirmation never surprised many people though the film’s directors never confirmed his role until yesterday night.

According to the LA Times, Ruffalo said that, “It’s like Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet, a new actor gets a crack at it every year. But really it’s all heady stuff. It’s exciting to be here. It’s great to be a part of all this.”

The movie’s other highly rated casts include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans. Robert Downey Jr. will play the role of Iron Man in the movie while Chris Hemsworth takes the role of Thor.

However when Marvel Studios was confronted with the question whether it has signed any contract with the actor, the management of the studio hurriedly said no. That response though was just before Marvel Studios made the announcement.
