New York, Sep 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The person who killed legendary singer and musician John Lennon has been refused parole for one more time and he is likely to stay imprisoned for two years more as it has been reported. The news has been admitted by the New York state officials. This was the sixth time that the 55 year old killer named Mark David Chapman was denied parole. The man admitted shooting the iconic Beatles star outside his apartment in 1980. He can apply for a parole hearing next time in 2012, the officials said.
the New York state parole board reached the conclusion that the way he planned the murder of the singer and executed his heinous plan makes him unsuitable for a parole. After murdering John Lennon Mark David Chapman was sentenced to serve prison for 20 years. The widow of the legendary singer Yoko Ono has made it clear that she is against the release of the person who killed her husband and thinks he is still a threat to the family. The man was just 25 when he had shot down the stalwart singer.
After pleading guilty to the crime he was slapped with a charge of committing second degree murder. He has spent the last 30 years behind bars and in between these years has appeared for parole. He is kept amidst tight security in the Attica Correctional Facility. However he has been allowed to see his wife in the last 20 years. Peter Shukat the attorney of John Lennon’s wife said that the lady was happy with the decision of the parole board.
