Sep 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mark Burnett, who is well known for introducing competition based reality shows in the American television is all set to produce a new show for Oprah Winfrey’s network OWN. The media reports that the upcoming show is going to be a weekday talk-show with a panel format and multiple hosts. Oprah Winfrey’s channel OWN will make its debut on January 1, 2011.

A reputed media source reported that another upcoming show of OWN named “Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search For The Next TV Star” will also be produced by Mark Burnett. Nancy O’Dell and Carson Kressley will be hosting the show and the show will be about finding the next television star. Dr. Phil, who is also an integral part of the program said that the new show is going to be a “game changing” event and the audience should have the ability to “pop-off” the screen. “The Oprah Winfrey Show” host in one of her interviews said that she came up the ladder of stardom by climbing the harder way but the new show will give the contestants an opportunity and platform to get “plucked”.

Oprah Winfrey gave suggestions to all those viewers, who are trying to do own show, by saying that they need to find a way for themselves and do better than anybody else, rather than pretending to be anybody else. The weekly talk show will, however, be like “The View” format and the show is in its early stage. The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) is a joint venture effort of Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Inc. and Discovery Communications Inc. and it will reportedly replace Discovery Health Channel on television.
